Freelance Sales Director / Consultant (m/f/d) – Galerie Philippe Bober, Berlin

Galerie Philippe Bober is a Berlin-based exhibition space dedicated to bridging the worlds of contemporary art and cinema. The gallery showcases photography, video works, and moving image installations by a roster of internationally acclaimed artists and directors extending Philippe Bober’s work as a film producer and founder of Coproduction Office.
We are looking for a freelance Sales Director or consultant to support the development of sales and strategic positioning of the gallery in Berlin and internationally.

Responsibilities
• Identify and connect with collectors, curators, art consultants, and institutional clients in Berlin and beyond.
• Develop and implement a market and sales strategy for the gallery’s program and represented artists.
• Build and maintain a professional contact network and client database.
• Support communication and outreach for exhibitions, fairs, and events.
• Collaborate with the gallery and production teams on proposals, presentations, and artist materials.

Profile
• Strong existing network within the Berlin contemporary art scene (collectors, curators, and institutions).
• Experience in art sales, gallery management, or cultural project development.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
• Interest in both art and film, and an understanding of their intersection.
• Organized, self-driven, and able to work independently.
• Multilinguist, English prerequisite (German and French are a plus)

Die Galerie Philippe Bober ist ein in Berlin ansässiger Ausstellungsraum, der sich der Verbindung von zeitgenössischer Kunst und Kino widmet. Die Galerie zeigt Fotografie, Videoarbeiten und Installationen bewegter Bilder von international anerkannten Künstler*innen und Regisseur*innen und erweitert damit die Tätigkeit von Philippe Bober als Filmproduzent und Gründer von Coproduction Office.

Wir suchen eine*n freiberufliche*n Sales Director oder Berater*in, die*der die Entwicklung von Verkäufen sowie die strategische Positionierung der Galerie in Berlin und international unterstützt.

Aufgaben
• Identifizierung und Kontaktaufnahme mit Sammler*innen, Kurator*innen, Kunstberater*innen und institutionellen Kund*innen in Berlin und im Ausland.
• Entwicklung und Umsetzung einer Markt- und Verkaufsstrategie für das Galerieprogramm und die vertretenen Künstler*innen.
• Aufbau und Pflege eines professionellen Kontaktnetzwerks und einer Kundendatenbank.
• Unterstützung der Kommunikations- und Outreach-Aktivitäten für Ausstellungen, Messen und Veranstaltungen.
• Zusammenarbeit mit dem Galerie- und Produktionsteam bei Vorschlägen, Präsentationen und Künstlerunterlagen.

Profil
• Bestehendes starkes Netzwerk in der Berliner Kunstszene (Sammler*innen, Kurator*innen, Institutionen).
• Erfahrung im Kunstverkauf, Galeriemanagement oder in der Entwicklung kultureller Projekte.
• Ausgezeichnete Kommunikations- und Networking-Fähigkeiten.
• Interesse an Kunst und Film sowie Verständnis für deren Schnittstellen.
• Strukturiert, selbstständig und eigenverantwortlich arbeitend.
• Mehrsprachig; Englisch ist Voraussetzung (Deutsch und Französisch sind von Vorteil).
