Personal Assistant

Personal Assistant
Studio Julian Charrière is seeking a highly organized and proactive Personal Assistant to support both the artist and Studio Director. This role requires a skilled professional adept at managing a variety of administrative tasks. It offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, creative environment and play a key role in the fast-paced day-to-day operations of a renowned contemporary art studio.

About the Artist:
Julian Charrière is a French-Swiss artist based in Berlin. His work has been exhibited in esteemed institutions and museums around the globe. Combining sculpture, performance, video, and photography, his projects often originate from fieldwork in remote, liminal locations such as volcanoes, icefields, and radioactive sites. By encountering places with distinctive geophysical identities, Charrière speculates on alternative histories, often viewing materials through the lens of deep geological time. His work deconstructs how cultural traditions shape our perception of nature, exploring its evolution from the Romantic era to the Anthropocene. He frequently collaborates with scientists, engineers, art historians, and philosophers. Whether undertaking artistic expeditions or staging immersive installations, Charrière’s practice examines how humans inhabit the world—and how the world inhabits us.

About the Studio:
The studio is made up of an international team of dedicated professionals from diverse backgrounds, all working together to bring Julian Charrière's artworks and exhibitions to life. In a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the team’s activities range from architectural planning, project management, research, and archiving, to communication and production. Many projects are realized in the studio's own workshops, which play a central role in the creative process.
Additionally, the studio maintains close relationships with a variety of external partners and operates as a hub for creative production and exchange. It fosters an inclusive and diverse atmosphere, with a strong commitment to collaboration and openness.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the artist’s schedule, ensuring efficient coordination of appointments, meetings, and events.
• Attend meetings to draft protocols, share action points with the studio, and autonomously handle follow-ups.
• Prioritize tasks and deadlines to ensure the effective use of the artist’s time.
• Oversee day-to-day administrative tasks, including email and contact management, document preparation, data exchange, and backups.
• Plan and coordinate all aspects of travel, including CO2 calculations, preparation of detailed
itineraries, troubleshooting potential issues, and managing last-minute changes.
• Assist with studio-related needs such as material sourcing, studio organization, and coordination with galleries and collaborators.

Required Skills:
• Proven experience as a personal assistant or in a similar administrative role, ideally within the arts or creative industries.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Strong communication skills in both written and spoken German and English (French is a plus).
• Proficiency in calendar management, travel coordination, and general administrative functions.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, including in remote settings.
• A passion for the arts and familiarity with the creative process is advantageous.
