Registrar

Galerie Volker Diehl is an established gallery with a focus on contemporary art with international relevance. The gallery is situated in Niebuhrstrasse 2, Charlottenburg close to Savigny Platz. We are a small team, seeking a part-time, permanent Registrar with at least two years’ previous experience. This can be 2 to 3 half days a week, if not affecting the results. Salary is commensurate with experience.

The Registrar will arrange the safe packing and transport of art obtaining the best value pricing while keeping artwork safe in transit. This includes shipments to and from museums, galleries, clients and artists. The candidate will maintain shipping records, condition reports and installation instructions while updating the records in the in-house developed database. The candidate should ideally have a car to travel between the gallery and the warehouses in Berlin and the external warehouse in Luckenwalde (45 min drive from Berlin).

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences:

- Several years of professional experience in the auction/fine-art shipper/gallery/museum environment.
- Very good knowledge in the field of art handling, packaging, handling, storage of artworks
- Detailed knowledge of import/export and tax regulations
- Flexibility and willingness to travel
- German as native language or on native level, very good English
