Head of Production


Times Art Center Berlin is currently accepting applications for a Head of Production to lead the planning and implementation process for the production, installation, and de-installation of upcoming exhibitions at the institution.


  • Working with both the in-house team and external service vendors and suppliers, the Head of Production develops the project (exhibition-based) calendar in accordance with exhibition scopes and budgets.
  • Working closely with the exhibition curators and assistants in order to plan and manage the production schedule of all artwork elements, fabrication, and installation needs for the exhibitions.
  • Supervising and coordinating the construction/installation activities to deliver exhibitions on time, in line with the budget and the overall exhibition program.
  • Helping to find the most suitable solutions concerning both the artwork production and the installation needs, constantly in dialogue with the in-house team and the curators.
  • Tracking, managing and communicating staffing, schedule, phasing, budgets, approvals, and scope shifts.
  • Working with external technicians, architects, and contractors, manages the production of public space and/or exhibition-related projects.


  • Bachelor’s degree in art or a design related field.
  • Five to seven years progressively responsible experience in construction management, exhibition design, architecture, industrial design, or equivalent.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to efficiently manage building crews and several projects simultaneously at various phases.
  • Ability to form and maintain successful working relationships with the institution staff, curators, artists, and technicians.
  • Proficiency in Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other standard office procedures and equipment.
  • Knowledge of contemporary art and modern Asian art history preferred.
  • Proficiency in German and English is required.
