Project Architect (Freelance)


Therme Art Program works with internationally renowned artists and architects to commission and develop site-specific artistic projects that challenge the limitations of contemporary art viewing.

We are now seeking to work with a talented Project Architect to realize these ambitious artistic projects. The architect will be employed on a part-time, project-based schedule and will act as a vital mediator between technical and artistic sides of our work.

Notwithstanding occasional travel, the role will be based in Therme Art Program offices at Erkelenzdamm 5, Berlin.

Outline of Duties:
The Project Architect role will involve a diverse and holistic workload, working responsively and intuitively between various departments. Tasks will include:

• Assisting in the planning and design of Therme Art Program commissions
• Liaising with artists, contractors and other external parties
• Analyzing and advising on architectural material to realize art commissions
• Engaging in research to ensure the smooth running of commissions and design process
• Any other ad hoc duties to aid the design and commissions process

Besondere Anforderungen

You should have excellent communication and presentation skills, be fluent in both written and spoken English (our working language), and meet the following key criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, with 2-3 years’ relevant work experience
• Knowledge of international architectural standards (RIBA, HOAI)
• Have a passionate interest in art, with an understanding of contemporary art practice
• Have an excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D modelling, as well as other commonly used architectural software
• Have a good working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and the full Microsoft Office suite
• Have a flexible approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
