Art Studio Coordinator

Beschreibung: 

Role Purpose: Manage and coordinate the activity of Studio Khaled Barakeh, including all-around assistance to artist Khaled Barakeh and support to his projects. Please note that the position has a strong focus on management and administration tasks.

Responsibilities/Key activities:

  • Personal assistance to the artist 
  • Oversee day to day operations of the studio and office
  • All-around Studio communication, from general inquiries, press requests and exhibitions invitations to liaison with galleries, institutions and other partners
  • Supervise the administration (invoices, payments) providing information to the bookkeeper and accountant, and supervising exhibition/production budgets
  • Oversee all studio systems, including the local server, the project management platform (Asana) and other digital accounts
  • Update and maintain the contact database (on Bitrix24 CRM) and manage the newsletter (on Mailchimp)
  • Coordinate the fundraising activities, fund applications and reports
  • Manage the studio team maintaining oversight of all ongoing projects and making sure all deadlines are met.
  • Manage the studio’s production and exhibitions calendar as well as the artist’s schedule and travel
  • Maintain the studio’s press, image, and project archive, both physical and digital, including backups
  • Support in the coordination of exhibitions and other projects

Requirements:

  • Degree (BA/MA) in Administration, Cultural Management or a related field and/or demonstrable experience as a project/office manager in the arts or equivalent position
  • Fluency in English and German (candidates without minimum C1 German proficiency need not apply); Arabic is a plus
  • Impeccable written skills and intuition for appropriate register and tone in communications
  • Interest in the work of Studio Khaled Barakeh and the work of the non-profit CoCulture e.V.
  • Knowledge of and interest in art and the contemporary art world
  • Fluency with Macintosh platforms and software including Mail, Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of tax, insurance and legal regulations related to the field of work in Germany

Working conditions: Freelance position on a project basis (with a possibility of future full employment)


Working environment: Office; Sometimes working from home.
