Creative Community Outreach Specialist


Kickstarter is seeking a Creative Community Outreach Specialist based remotely in Berlin. In this role, you will engage with creators and grow Kickstarter’s presence in Berlin and across Germany. The ideal candidate is passionate about creative projects and the people behind them.

About the Team

The Outreach & International team sustains, builds, and deepens our relationships with creators in the global creative communities we serve. We act as authorities and advocates in our fields. Managing a large portfolio of relationships, we inspire creators to use Kickstarter to support their creative work. We are a team of multidisciplinary individuals who are action-oriented and believe deeply in the importance of creative independence.

About the Role

The German Creative Community Outreach Specialist will develop, plan, and execute a growth and engagement strategy to help bring Kickstarter’s mission to Berlin, across Germany and deep inside specific creative communities. This position is based in Berlin and will include some travel within Germany and Europe, as well as regular trips to Kickstarter’s HQ in Brooklyn. You will work closely with a variety of teams across Kickstarter, including the Outreach & International, Community Support, Creator Development, Editorial, as well as local and global communications teams.

In This Role, You Will:

- Identify, recruit and advise creators for Kickstarter projects.
- Build a strategy for vibrant, highly engaged communities of Kickstarter creators in Germany.
- Align the needs of German creators with the European regional strategy & Kickstarter HQ efforts.
- Identify and develop brand-aligned partnerships to increase the pipeline of high-quality creators from Germany and elevate Kickstarter's cultural presence in the country.
- Provide ongoing insights into the changing cultural of Germany and how Kickstarter can play a meaningful role.
- Speak at and attend events relevant to Kickstarter’s community.
- Work closely with our local communication agency to amplify Kickstarter’s cultural voice and the impact of creators from Germany.

About You

- You have at least 3 years of work experience.
- You have a relevant network and knowledge base in (at least) two of the following creative industries in Germany: Arts, Publishing, Film & Video or Music.
- You are a creative thinker with a deep understanding of the creative world, the role Kickstarter plays in that ecosystem, and innovative ideas for how Kickstarter can shift it.
- You are a relationship builder and influencer who inspires action and engenders trust through excellent communication.
- You are a strong project manager, with a commitment to data-driven and organized work.
- You are kind, collaborative, calm, and flexible under pressure.
- You are a jack of all trades with an entrepreneurial mindset, willing to roll up your sleeves to get stuff done.
- You are humble, not afraid to make mistakes and view every experience as an opportunity to learn.
- You are willing to travel within Germany, Europe, and to Brooklyn.
- Bonus points if you have backed Kickstarter projects in the past.
